Joseph Kosuth:“One and three plants”

In 1965, Joseph Kosuth(1945) was responsible for a fundamental work entitled "One and three plants", which Galleria Six showed for the first time in Italy on 12 December.

The object is represented in three different ways: as a photographic image, as a physical entity, as a linguistic definition taken from the dictionary, renouncing the representation of the image reduced to the conceptual aspect.

"The art that I define conceptual - Kosuth writes in 1970 - is such because it is based on the search for the nature of art; consequently it is not really the activity of constructing artistic propositions but an elaboration, an examination of all the implications of all aspects of the art-concept".

A Joseph Kosuth(1945) si deve nel 1965, un’opera fondamentale dal titolo “One and three plants” e che la Galleria Six mette in mostra per la prima volta in Italia il 12 dicembre.

L’ oggetto e rappresentato in tre modi differenti: come immagine fotografica, come entita fisica, come definizione linguistica presa dal dizionario, rinunciando alla raffigurazione dell’immagine ridotta all’aspetto concettuale.

“L’arte che io definisco concettuale - scrive Kosuth nel 1970 - e tale perche fondata sulla ricerca della natura dell’arte; di conseguenza non e propriamente l’attivita di costruire proposizioni artistiche ma un elaborare, uno sviscerare tutte le implicazioni di tutti gli aspetti del concetto-arte”.

La mostra chiuderà i battenti il 13 gennaio 2010.
