Luca Rossi:"If You Don't Understand Something Search for it on YouTube"

Galleria Six is pleased to present an exhibition by the artist "Luca Rossi" curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio. The exhibition will take stock of the project that sees "Luca Rossi" engaged for 10 years and can be considered the consequence and the result of 10 years of activity. Fifteen new artworks by Luca Rossi and a video interview with the curator. The widespread aestheticization, the rapid proliferation of  smooth images, consigned to consume, where only the mere present of the flattest perception counts, lead to a fundamental anesthetization.  Luca Rossi, artist/collective, critic, curator, blogger, controversial personality who also works with anonymity, a sort of Anonymous of the Art System, has reacted in these years in this anesthetization by stimulating critical confrontation and creating projects that are able to reflect and resist against the knots of our contemporaneity.

Luca Rossi is an independent author for which anyone can be “Luca Rossi”. In this way everyone is stimulated to a new sense of opportunity and responsibility.

Luca Rossi was defined “the most interesting personality” in Italy by Fabio Cavallucci,and “the new Vanessa Beecroft” by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio. In 2011 Alfredo Cramerotti (curator of “Manifesta” and Museum Director Mostyn, Wales) wrote: “To be honest, I’m not Roberta (a 2011 project by Luca Rossi) made me think more than dozens of other projects I have seen “live”. In 2013 the art critic Angela Vettese stated that since he read Luca Rossi's blog she stopped devoting himself to the practice of art but only to theory. In December 2015 a comparison between Mario Perniola and Luca Rossi was published in the magazine Alfabeta2. In 2017 an article from Artribune magazine summarizes and retraces Luca Rossi's work starting in 2009.

Galleria Six è lieta di presentare una mostra dell'artista “Luca Rossi” curata da Giacinto Di Pietrantonio. La mostra farà il punto sul progetto che vede impegnato “Luca Rossi” da 10 anni e può essere considerata la conseguenza e il risultato di 10 anni di attività. Quindici opere d’arte inedite di Luca Rossi e un’intervista video realizzata con il curatore. L'estetizzazione diffusa, la veloce proliferazione di immagini levigate e consegnate al consumo dove conta solo il mero presente della più piatta percezione, conducono a una fondamentale anestetizzazione. Luca Rossi, artista/collettivo critico, curatore, blogger, personaggio controverso che lavora anche con l’anonimato, una sorta di Anonymous del Sistema dell’Arte, ha reagito in questi anni a questa anestetizzazione stimolando confronto critico e realizzando progetti capaci di riflettere e resistere ai nodi della nostra contemporaneità.

Luca Rossi è un’identità collettiva che chiunque può vestire. In questo modo il concetto di individualità artistica tradizionale viene messo in discussione, sollecitando chiunque ad un senso di responsabilità e opportunità. Luca Rossi è stato definito come la personalità artistica più interessante nel panorama italiano”(Exibart, 2010) da Fabio Cavallucci e come la nuova promessa dell’arte italiana da Giacinto Di Pietrantonio che lo indica come la “nuova Vanessa Beecroft” (Artribune, 2013).  Nel 2011 Alfredo Cramerotti (curatore di Manifesta e direttore del museo Mostyn, Galles) ha scritto: “Per essere onesto, “I’m not Roberta” (un progetto di Luca Rossi del 2011) mi ha fatto pensare più di decine di altri progetti che ho visto dal vivo” . Nel 2013 la critica d’arte Angela Vettese dichiara che da quando legge il blog di Luca Rossi ha smesso di dedicarsi alla pratica dell’arte ma solo alla teoria. Nel dicembre 2015 sulla rivista Alfabeta2 è stato pubblicato un confronto tra Mario Perniola e Luca Rossi. Nel 2017 un articolo della rivista Artribune riassume e ripercorre il lavoro di Luca Rossi a partire dal 2009.
